Just wondering how to change the color or the text that appears at the top of the screen which is the name of the video playing. On my player it comes up as very dark grey text on background so it is very hard to read, I have to get really close to see it. If I could change it to yellow, oh that would be a whole new world, I could read it from across the room if it were yellow. I have looked through the settings time and time again, but can not figure out what one goes to that exact text. could someone help me please, going on 3 years I have been wanting this, never knew there was a forum for the KMplayer. well now I do ...YAY!!

Hello. In the older version of KMplayer I had, when I pressed (shift)+(num+) it would increase playback speed by 5%. Now in the newer version when I press these keys it increases playback speed by 25% which is sometimes too much. How can I change settings so that it increases (or decreases) by 5%, not 25%?
Thanks.

Answer by Ashish Bajaj

The playback speed increment can be changed in the settings of the KMPlayer. To adjust it to 5%, you need to go to "Preferences" or "Options" in the newer version of KMPlayer and look for the playback settings. From there, you can customize the increment or decrement value to 5%.

In the latest KMPlayer version, every time I start playing a file the screen launches a window to the right side, showing an unreachable webpage.

I want to stop that from happening. Can you tell me how?

just edit you hosts file, located in
c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/host
and add
127.0.0.1 player.kmpmedia.net
this will prevent the kmplayer to connect to the internet and no sidebar will appear!

The error you are experiencing is related to the fact that Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is not installed correctly or has registry errors. This error is often encountered when a user installs KMPlayer and activates Media Album support and it is lacking ActiveX Flash support. The Media Album KMPlayer uses is based on Adobe Flash technology and so it requires this ActiveX in order to run properly. Here is the link where you can download the mentioned component.

Download the package, close all Internet browsers and any 3rd party applications, and perform a new installation. The setup automatically copies the files to its right places. A restart of your computer is recommended for the settings to take effect.

The quality of the video you want to play is directly influenced by the codec used to encode the video file and the renderer available in KMPlayer. To access it, right-click inside the player's window, then go to Options > Preferences (or F2) > Video Processing > Renderer. By default the renderer is set to Enhanced Video Renderer, but I suggest you change it to Haali's Video Renderer and it's best to keep the Video Scaler to Bilinear. You can try decreasing it using the drop down menu, but if you experience playback glitches, switch it back to how it was.

Of course, you can use other processing filters like Sharpen, Soften and Post-Processing. Post-Processing plays a major factor as well, but if you don't know how to use it, simply drag the presets bar until the image looks better.

I want to apply new skins for KMPlayer. Where should I download them and how to add them to the player?

Stephen Prastman
Answer by Stephen Prastman

You can add skins using the database from the developers. There is a page where you can download these skins. The skins are in the .ksf file format. If KMPlayer is installed, double-clicking them will also install the skin, then it's a matter of two clicks to activate them through the Interface.

I have a problem with Farsi and Arabic subtitle. I downloaded the program, changed the font style to the Arabic from Preferences and I also enabled the external subtitles, but still strange characters appear. I have no problem with the subtitle while using another player. How can I fix this?

A
Answer by Aiden McLeod

If you changed the subtitle font to Arabic from Preferences, you need to change the regional setting of Windows. Also, download another subtitle and check if this behavior is still encountered. If you still have problems, check the following forum 1 and forum 2 for additional support.

Please use the image below and tweak the settings from the Pan & Scan menu. Reset them to the default and tweak the video settings as you please until you can see the image normally.
